Disney-Day 1

These some of my journal entries from our Disney vacation.

 September 17
We got up at 3 AM and our flight landed in Orlando at 9 AM.

When we arrived, we were taken on a Disney bus heading to Disney World.
We checked in at Port Orleans French Quarters where we will be staying for the week.  Our rooms were not ready for us yet so we decided to take a bus to Epcot.

We took tour where we were taken through a large green house showing the advances scientist at Disney are making in agriculture.

While walking through Epcot a plane flew overhead and wrote the words "Love Jesus".

All of us loved the Test Track.  Your are seated in a car and take a ride while it goes through its paces.  We went up ramps, over pot holes, and tested the accelerator and brakes.  The car then takes you outside of the building where you go 65 mph around a race track.  It was really neat!
After we got off the ride we walked through a building showcasing the newest cars.  The guys really liked that but I was ready to move on.

Mexico
Most of the day we walked through the World Showcase.  The World Showcase is an area representing 11 different countries.  There are actual representatives from other countries that are payed to leave their homelands and work at Disney.

China
For supper we had reservations at the Nine Dragons restaurant.  The food was great!

Youth Girls Night

Last Friday night, 17 girls met at our youth leaders house for a few hours of dipping snacks in chocolate fondue, playing games, and sewing felt owls.

The items available to dip were oreos, pretzels, peppermint sticks, strawberries and even pickles (yuck)!

From left to right is Uncle Ollie, Cousin Pooka, and Aunt Olga.

Dropping Amy

She didn't seem mind and was totally relaxed every time I dropped her!

A New Christmas Song To Learn

Dancing bears
Painted wings
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
once upon a December

Someone holds me safe and warm,
horses prance through a silver storm,
Figures dancing gracefully,
across my memory,

(Instrumental Interlude)

Someone holds me safe and warm,
horses prance through a silver storm,
Figures dancing gracefully,
across my memory,

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my hear used to know
Things it yearns to remember

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December
