Great Christmas Music

This is a great Christmas CD to listen to to get into the Christmas mood. It includes many of the popular songs included in the well-known Charlie Brown cartoons. I have been listening to it so much that I almost have it memorized! Jazz is usually not my thing, but love how it sounds on a piano!

Oh, What I Do To Her

In the picture below, Amy froze in this position for almost a minute. I had to take a picture!

Then she sneezed.......

Penn National Horse Show

Last night mom and I went to a horse show at the Farm Show complex.
We enjoyed watching show jumping, Draft horse obstacle course, and the final event, carriage racing.

The carriage racing was won by a single horse carriage (above) pulled by a horse named Magic Lantern.

Frog

If you look close enough, you can see a little frog. I spotted it when we were heading back to our hotel room while staying in Florida. He only stayed for a few seconds before hopping away.

Psalm 147:7-8

Psalm 147:7-8

7. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make music to our God on the harp.

8. He covers the sky with clouds;
he supplies the earth with rain
and makes grass grow on the hills.

We're Back!

Hi! We're back! We had a great time down in Florida where they just got over 2 straight weeks of rain. The last 2 days that we were there it was 100-110 degrees outside, plus humidity!
Every afternoon after browsing around Clear Water or swimming in the pool, we would come back to find that the maid had struck! The place was completely clean, dishes washed and put away, and (my favorite part) there were towels folded into animals! Below are the ones that we found during our stay. The elephant is my favorite!

Here are those little lizards that were EVERYWHERE in Florida. Mom was obsessed with catching one but they were far too quick. I was actually surprised that Jake was able to take a picture of this one.

Comical Eggs

While having a boring afternoon after working at Blue Berry Hill, I decided to design faces on some of the eggs in the fridge. I tried using markers, crayons, and coloring pencils and found that the pencils work the best.
My favorite egg is the scared one on the bottom left!

When Did Americans Begin To Celebrate Father's Day?

People in Spokane, Washington, celebrated the first Father's Day in 1910. Louise Dodd, who lived in Spokane, thought that fathers should be honored with a special day that would bring father and children closer together. She talked to her minister about it. Then she, a few other ministers, and the YMCA persuaded people to celebrate Father's Day. The idea spread to other states. In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge asked people all over the country to honor their fathers with a special day. Ever since then, Americans have celebrated Father's Day on the third Sunday in June.

Pysanky Eggs

Last Thursday evening, Mom and I went to the library to take a class on how to make Pysanky eggs.  We had a great time!
The the egg above is mine and the red egg below is Mom's.

Below, are some of the many eggs that were used as examples.
